• Our little corner of Provence is just as beautiful in winter as it is in summer, not to mention less crowded but still just as sunny! The mild Provencal winters and the geographical location of our guesthouse are ideal for a romantic getaway.
  • Staying at L'Oréliane in Châteauneuf de Gadagne gives you the chance to :
    - enjoy beautiful days under the blue skies of Provence
    - discover the many romantic spots nearby
    - enjoy a plethora of romantic activities, including some organized especially for Valentine's Day. And yes, our corner of Provence comes alive, even in winter!
    - enjoy beautiful evenings, outdoors or in the cosy cocoon of our guest house.

To help you plan your Valentine's Day getaway in Provence, we've put together a few suggestions for places to visit and things to do.
Of course, don't hesitate to get in touch with the local tourist offices (L'isle sur la Sorgue Tourisme, Ventoux Provence, Luberon Coeur de Provence and Avignon Tourisme), as they'll have a thousand other things to do to "wow" your other half!

5 “Made for Love" sites to visit

  • 1. Wine tour of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne and sunset among the vines

Our perched village of Gadagne is renowned for the quality of its Côtes du Rhône Village appellation wines. Visit one of its estates, all on the heights of our perched village, taste their excellent wines and then enjoy the sunset and the sumptuous panorama offered by the Campbeau plateau over the surrounding area (with a view of Mont Ventoux, please!).

2. Discovery of the spring and sunset over the aqueduct at Fontaine de Vaucluse

The beauty of Fontaine de Vaucluse and the Sorgue river that rises from it, has been "sung" by many poets and romantics (Petrarch, Chateaubriand, René Char...) and if there is indeed a masterpiece of sung love, it is perhaps Petrarch's Canzoniere. A poetic account in verse of the torments of love and desire, dedicated to Laure, his eternal muse. We'll say no more! Except not to miss the sunset from the top of the Galas aqueduct! A magical moment.

3. Stroll through France's most beautiful Venice, L'Isle sur la Sorgue

Many towns are called Little Venice because they are criss-crossed by canals. But frankly... none of them can compare to our Venice of Comtadine! There's nothing more romantic than strolling through the narrow streets lined with water, where the old paddlewheels, still in action, exude a special charm. Stroll through the stalls of the village's renowned antique dealers, then enjoy a drink in one of the many bars and cafés of this village-like town.

4. A trip to Avignon, a stroll through the heart of the UNESCO-listed papal city

On the program: a visit to the Palais des papes and its magnificent perched garden, the Rocher des Doms (the place is as romantic as you could wish and the view of the surrounding area is superb. We love it), an art-house film at the Utopia cinema followed by a hot chocolate in their superb café, a drink or lunch in one of the city's many quality cafés-restaurants...

5.
A colorful getaway in the heart of Colorado Provençal

A magical place for a romantic get-together!
On the program: a short stroll or a beautiful hike in the Luberon regional nature park at Rustrel, a lovely walk along the Roussillon ochre trail and a visit to this perched village classified as one of the most beautiful in France, or a visit to the Bruoux mines at Gargas.
Tip: start your day with a sunrise over the listed village of Gordes, then head for Roussillon, just 15 minutes away.

5 activities to keep the flame alive

1. A romantic dinner, a sure bet for a delicious moment

Many fine restaurants are offering Valentine's Day menus and evenings. To choose yours, you can already browse the article we dedicated to our favorite restaurants by clicking HERE

Many of the restaurants on this list will be open on the evening of February 14, some with a menu dedicated to lovers. This is the case for the first two on our list: La Table des Sorgues in Chateauneuf du Pape and Le Vivier, the Michelin-starred restaurant in L'Isle sur la Sorgue. The latter also offers one at its bistronomic table, Solelh. A gourmet bistro we like, but which you won't find on our list because it opened its doors after we published this article. We'll be sure to add it one of these days! To discover their Valentine's Day menu and make a reservation, click HERE.

2. Enjoy a cabaret dinner show, a glamorous show at the Rouge Gorge in Avignon

A great evening ahead, because everything about it is great: the venue (right in the heart of the historic center), the warm, festive atmosphere, the dinner (good value for money) and the show, which, according to some people from the Grande Capitale, was “of provincial quality"! So we laugh about it, but yes, in the provinces in general and Provence in particular, leisure and culture are also on the agenda in style! Indeed... Information and reservations by clicking HERE

3. Devote an entire day to Love in Avignon :

The setting of the UNESCO-listed papal city is romantic enough. But taking a stroll through the city's many Valentine's Day activities is an unusual experience that will stay with you for a long time. You can :
